full throttle

last night ng zhu and i found ourselves alongside thirty plus gung-ho alpha-males and perhaps three other females (who also happened to be the girlfriends of three of the aforementioned gung-ho alpha-males.) which of course left the two of us looking horribly out of place lol.

how exactly did we find ourselves in such a situation, you may ask, not without the slightest bit of curiosity.

well, it all started with me brisk walking past this Nus Motoring Club booth, only to retrace my steps and stealthily pick up a flyer from the table before taking off again (lest they hound me.) being a Schumacher fan and self-professed speed junkie, i simply had to go for the welcome tea at Kartworld. yunnie came along fer the fun of it, and that's how we both joined the nus motoring club and ended up alongside the rest of the very gung-ho motoring club members on the race track.

despite the fact that yunnie was kinda chicken at first and i was simply gung-ho without the right tactics, it turned out to be such whooping great fun being all geared up in the go-kart and experiencing the adrenalin rush at death defying full throttle speed!

zhu and i were racing each other and some amazing boy prodigy (who was training there in a real racing kart) and shouting crazy things at the top of our lungs haha! many a time i almost crashed into the other racers, and my kart spun crazily outta control thereby landing on a grass patch.

hair-raising, yes, yet so so wondrously exhilarating we wanted to go a second round after the first! too bad the fees were high and we were but poor kids.

come to think of it, i've always been taking part in very gung-ho ccas since i was little.

primary school: track and field (i used to hurdle! can't believe it haha), touch rugby, military band or so they call it heh.

secondary school: NCC (not NPCC for goodness sake.) you know, we do those mud-crawling, mindless-marching, rifle-handling, mountain-climbing, jungle-trekking, round-island-kayaking (you get the idea) kinda things.

junior college: touch rugby and occassional contact rugby sessions which often caused me to walk away from the field covered in war-scars. haha i remember ah boon's jaw dropped when i turned up for dinner with a bruised face, bloody knees and swollen lips.

university: motoring club?? rugby again?? dragon boat (with cheryleney)?? or simply go relak one corner and join lit soc, guitar club with ranvir or wood-wind instruments club to pick up the sax again...hahaha choices, choices.

anyhows, jing may be coming fer the next karting session woohoo! can't wait.

and to shuffie, mag and kady: more girls' nights in and good clean fun please :)

last - next
